Cozy Fall Essentials

Cozy Fall Essentials

Fall is really starting to ramp up in the Lincoln area. We were blessed with a beautiful September and it still hasn't gotten too cold here but it's starting to feel more crisp in the mornings since October began. I've broken out some of my fall clothing & decor which is always my mental cue that the seasons have changed. I thought I'd let you in on a few of the things that I like to have around me to really put me in the autumn spirit. :)

Candles

Obviously. I love candles all year round, but I'm always really excited for the fall scents to come out. I've heard great things about the cinnamon pumpkin soy candle from Target as well (same line as my beloved Vintage Lace I burned all summer) but I haven't tried it out yet! Especially if your home doesn't have a fireplace, autumn candles just set the scene for a cozy evening.

Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside--burning in our apartment as we speak. :)
My favorite right now--will be burning all fall
Also....
Yankee Candle Autumn in the Park --A co-worker received this as a gift and let me smell it & now I want it in my life. :)
Parachute Home Fireside--something about the word "fireside" just says fall/winter/coziness to me.

Cozy Throw Blankets

They just make everything better. You can curl up on the sofa & watch Netflix in absolute comfort.
Plus a sneak peek at our new living room furniture!
Red throw--Target, 2 years ago
Sand/multi-colored throw--HomeGoods
I'm also digging these cashmere throws from Parachutehome.com and this one from Target. Stripes & plaid feel pretty fall-ish to me--especially this year! #90splaidiscomingback

Hot Drinks

Stock photo, because my drinks never look this good.

Okay, as you may remember from this post, I am not a coffee fan. But caramel, pumpkin, chocolate would all be great additions to coffee drinks as well! Plus, here is finally a post written by a white girl about fall drinks that doesn't include a pumpkin spice latte--you are welcome. :)

Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate-It's sweet, it's salty, it's the perfect hot drink for that time of the month. This is important information. :)

Caramel Apple Spice--This is basically hot apple juice with caramel in it and whipped cream on top, as far as I can tell, but it is delicious. I usually get a tall at Starbucks of this because if I drink too much more it seems too sweet for me.

Homemade Hot Apple Cider--My mother-in-law & sister-in-law make a great one that has regular apple cider, but also all spice, cinnamon sticks, & red hot candies. Amazing!

Boots

I have two pairs of high boots for fall already in my wardrobe, a black scrunchy leather pair & a brown riding boot--both of which I will absolutely utilize this fall--but this year I feel like it's all about the little booties & ankle boots! Here are a couple I have my eye on....
Dolce Vita "Kadie" Bootie

Jessica Simpson "Calvey" Bootie
I'm still on the lookout for a great gray ankle bootie--perhaps a suede? Maybe slouchy? I can picture it but can't quite find it--or at least not in my price range! Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions. :)

(Faux) Leather Jackets

Leather jackets are such a fall staple for me. They keep me cozy in the crisp mornings & evenings without sacrificing style or looking like a big winter coat. I may have a small obsession--at one point I think I had six in my closet all at once! I've trimmed down my very old (read: from high school) ones out of my wardrobe and currently only have one in a camel color (although I swear there's a gray one somewhere that I just can't find? I really hope I didn't give it away!) and I think I may be able to work a couple more in there this fall. :)
Such a great color! NY & Company

A bit of texture jazzes up this basic black. NY & Company

Autumnal Scarves

Now, I wear scarves in lots of different types of weather, but the weight & pattern of these make them extra fall-appropriate!
Express Plaid Scarf
I like to do one of two things to my eyeshadow in the fall--go with autumnal colors (greens, cranberries, purples) & keep the lip pretty netural OR go super neutral on the eyes (soft browns, shimmery champagnes) and make the lips pop with a great berry or red tone (see below for lip suggestions!). These palettes are the ones I go to over and over in the fall.

Loreal LaPalette 2-top in photo, $20, but often on sale for buy 1, get on 1/2 off
Urban Decay Naked Palette-2nd from top, $54, favorite palette all year round
Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette-bottom of photo--no longer available, but try the 35O,  the 35W, or the 35P--$23 each
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette-right in photo, $49

Berry or Red Lips

As I mentioned above, I love to do a berry or red lip in the fall along with a neutral eye look. Even though super matte lips are very trendy this season, I don't find them comfortable to wear all day or wear off as gracefully as a satin or natural finish, and they tend to be drying.  Most of the below items are more on the satin side of things, with two mattes thrown into the mix.
Top to bottom:

And there you have it! Some of my cozy fall essentials that I tend to use throughout the autumn. Which were your favorites? What would you recommend? Let me know in the comments!

Handy Pin-able image for future reference. :)

  1. Merkur 37C Safety Razor Review – Merkur 37C
The deccasino Merkur 37c is an excellent short handled DE safety razor. It is more suitable for both heavy poormansguidetocasinogambling.com and ventureberg.com/ non-slip hands and is therefore a great option for sol.edu.kg experienced septcasino
