New Home Tour--Move In Day

Our 2nd Home
New Home Tour-Move In Day
+ Bonus Link to Moving Tips!

The hubs and I got our keys for our new place this morning (squeal!) and he is now working on moving a few things over while I'm at work. I'm having a hard time sitting still--it's a bit of a slow day for me so far and I just keep thinking about all the productive moving and packing/unpacking I could be doing instead! Luckily, we have some friends and family who will be helping us move our big furniture in a little over a week, so there's not a huge rush. I just like to get as much done myself as I can, and since the new place is just a few blocks away from my in-laws (our gracious hosts these last few months) it will be easy to make runs and organize some things on my own. The countdown to 6 o'clock begins! I can't wait to give you all some peeks (maybe even a tour once we're fully "settled"), but until then....here are some pictures of the new place completely empty!

First side of L-shaped balcony (off dining room)

Second side of balcony-with the storage closet door

Entrance to apartment-may need to get a baby gate for when we have friends with kiddos over!

Since these are stock photos of an upper apartment at this complex (and not our actual apartment) they're mirror images--our living room will be to the left of the entrance rather than the right.

Living and dining areas--same thing here, they will be flipped in our unit.

Another living room view showing the laundry area and hallway to 2nd bed & bath

Dining & peek into kitchen. You can see the door leading out to the balcony as well.

Kitchen area--so much more cabinet space than our first apartment!

Another kitchen view--Ricky was pretty impressed by the 8 outlets offered in here!

Master bedroom--you can see the bathroom and closet doors here

Ricky was impressed by the abundant outlets in the bedrooms too--it was pretty funny to me that that was what he was so focused on. This is the master from the opposite view.

Master closet-we've gotten spoiled at the in-laws but this is miles bigger than our old apartment!

Master bathroom. I've just gotten some new cushy towels & bath mats and can't wait to put them in here!

Master again--linen closet! So much storage!

2nd bathroom--And 2nd linen closet! This is where our existing bathroom accessories will go--rugs & towels, etc.

2nd bedroom--We will use it as office/guest unless my sister moves in with us, which she keeps "hinting" towards :)

Another 2nd bedroom view--a walk in closet in this one as well!

So I know this isn't the nicest or fanciest apartment in the world, but Ricky and I feel very blessed to be able to move in and call it our home while we save up for a house. And I feel blessed to be able to make another home "our own" by using creative storage solutions and DIY decorative touches--and of course, sharing them all with you!
