If you're anything like me, your style evolves, both in your clothing choices & your home decor. Because of this evolution, I want to eventually have a lot of neutral palettes in my home that can be updated easily through a few trendy, colorful accessories to give the whole room a new vibe. But I haven't always thought that way! When Ricky an I first got married, I was fresh out of college and still searching for a personal style that said "grown up" and not "dorm life". I've learned a lot since then, and I know I've got a long way to go...but the room that's going right now is the master!
This was our very first bedding set. We changed after about a year to a black & white set that I will show you in my reveal post. I don't hate this set, but I don't love it as much as I thought I would either. It was a little dark and overly shiny, and didn't have enough cozy factor or personality. Our bedroom in the first apartment we had was tiny and the dark colors and lack of headboard closed it in even more. It will stay for now as guest bedding and has already come in handy a couple of times when we have multiple people stay over, run out of couch space and need to cozy up the floor. :)
First married bedding....fond of the memories but not the set anymore |
Lately I've been drawn to gray as my primary neutral color. Lots of white will keep it calming and fresh. I still love black and there will be pops of it, some mixed metallics, and a few colorful accents that can change with time. Here are the photos I've used to help me figure out my design.....

Love the direction you are going with neutrals and accents that can be easily changed. I am doing this too! Once you look past my chevron and chalkboards, then I want you to notice the truly classic BONES I have! :) Thanks for sharing at Hit me with your best shot link up.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jamie! Classic bones with trendy accents is definitely the best of both worlds!
