December Favorites

Age of Adaline $13
This is a beautifully acted story of Adaline, a woman who stopped aging at 29 and her journey to finding a life for herself. Harrison Ford is in it as well, but Blake Lively is definitely the shining star. I've always thought she was great, but I love her even more after seeing this movie!

Loft 5 Pocket Ponte Leggings $69.50
I love that the Loft carries the petite option--I live in these pants! Perfect for work because they look like dress slacks but they're really comfortable thick leggings. They have real pockets in the back, faux pockets in the front, and belt loops as well--very professional while feeling like PJs=win win!

Loft Petite Utility Blouse $49.50
Soft, lightweight, gorgeous work appropriate blouse. Looks great with the pants above, which is how I wear it at least once a week. ;) I have this olive color so far but (not-so) secretly I want one in every color!

Colourpop Koosh (Sold as part of the Forever Freshman Set $25)
(Lovely $5 is kind of similar if you don't want to buy the whole set)
I LOVE this color! It looks beautiful on the ball of your eyelid to add light to any look, but my favorite way to wear it is with a cranberry-chocolatey smokey eye, inspired by a look done by Jaclyn Hill. Colourpop has a few of these metallic highlight shades so be sure to check out the site and pick the undertone you think would work the best for the look you want to create!

Essie Polish in Bordeaux & Leggy Legend $8.50 each
This has been my go-to combo all December long! I've been wearing Bordeaux (right) on my fingers & Leggy Legend on my toes. Be sure to use a top coat because Essie polish tends to chip otherwise.

This is my jam. I actually can't believe I haven't included this in previous favorite posts because I go through more of this & the cocoa powder bronzer than anything else--mainly because they're really the only products that I use each and every day without switching it up at all! This powder looks great as a foundation over a light tinted moisturizer if you apply with a short dense brush, or as a setting powder with a large, fluffy tapered brush.

This is a pricey item (I use it on days I really want my makeup to look good & last!) but is really good if you are having very dry skin like I am this winter. A little goes a long way, so one pump is usually enough and I concentrate it on my dry patches which are usually between my eyebrows, and around my nose & chin. It leaves your skin feeling very silky and it helps your foundation blend into your skin better and look less cakey which I really appreciate in the wintertime!

Nivea Men's Post Shave Balm $5.59
A much less expensive primer option, I have been really enjoying this on the days I haven't used the coconut primer. I know it's technically a men's aftershave, and it does smell a bit like cologne at first, but it does a really good job of helping my makeup last all day without wearing off in patches! It's also pretty hydrating and obviously good for my sensitive skin. If you're limited on drawer space in your shared bathroom you can kill two birds with one stone & share this with your hubby!

  1. I will have to try that Marc Jacobs primer! My skin is HORRIBLE in the winter :( I try to apply or buff something on and my skin just flakes!

    1. I absolutely love it! If I exfoliate the night before & use this over some moisturizer, I don't have that flaking problem which is such a pain in the winter!
